The Infinity Gate by Sarah Douglass is the third novel in the Darkglass Mountain trilogy. I seem to have a habit of reading trilogies and series backwards so I wondered how The Infinity Gate would stack up as a read alone novel. There were a lot of characters to get familiar with but it was easy to get into the story line.

The main focus of the book is to save Elcho Falling which is a magical castle. There was a quest through the land where we meet different creatures, some good and some still dead where our heroes had to battle valiantly. I enjoyed the quirky juit birds and how they helped our heroes even though the juit birds were regarded as stupid pesky birds. I enjoyed that the focus wasn’t on just one hero but the glory was shared by a few.

I found the book easy to read and left me wanting to read the preceding 2 novels. This book had me in its grip and I couldn’t stop reading it.
